Patmos is one of the Dodecanese groups in the Aegean sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The island is globally known for its religious legacy as John the Evangelist (aka John the Theologian) wrote there the Book of Revelation. In 1981, Greece declared Patmos a \u201cSacred Island”, and in 1999 UNESCO included The Historic Centre (Chora) with the Monastery of Saint-John the Theologian and the Cave of the Apocalypse in its World Heritage Site List. 4. Lambi (colourful pebbles and a taverna on the beach) and, on the opposite coast, Livadi Kalogiron is as peaceful as the monks from which it takes its name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Psili Ammos (Fine Sand), is A hidden gem in the south accessible by boat from Skala or a 30 min hike from the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exploring the town, you\u2019ll encounter the iconic windmills, Patmian School, Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi (with its impressive bell tower) and the 18th-century Town Hall in Xanthos Square. In Agia Levias Square you will find excellent food and stores with local products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
