The driver must hold a license for at least one year. His driving license must be Greek, European (for EU countries) or International (for non-EU countries). For categories A, AA, A1, B, BB, BA, BJ, C, CA, CH minimum age 21 years, having a driving license of at least 1 year and for all other categories 23 years. Maximum age limit 75 years. Daily charge fee of €20 for young driver ages between 18 – 20. Maximum charge young driver’s fee is 200 €. For all categories, the customer must present a credit/debit card accepted by SELECTA to cover the amounts related to the guarantee and the payment of the rental cost (for non-prepaid reservations). For every car rental, a credit or debit card is always required as a guarantee, even if the renter pays the rental in cash.
Only drivers mentioned in the rental agreement are allowed to drive a Selecta vehicle.
Yes, you may add an additional driver onto your rental agreement. This must be done at the time of rental, or you can also add an additional driver onto your rental agreement during your rental by visiting any SELECTA location. The additional driver must present a valid driving licence.
Additional driver’s fee has a Daily charge of €5 plus VAT, with maximum charge of 110 €.
For rentals in Greece, upon pick up of the vehicle, SELECTA will preauthorize an amount from the driver’s credit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit card. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car group. Specifically:

If you added your flight details to your booking, we will be able to track your flight and may hold the car for you for some time.
If your flight is delayed, it is important to call SELECTA as soon as possible.
Check the car
Walk around the car and look inside, checking for damage. If you find any, ask the agent to mark it on your rental agreement. You may also take pictures so you can be confident about what the car was like to start with.
Check what fuel it takes
Open the cap to see if it’s petrol or diesel. If you’re not sure which fuel the car takes, ask the agent before you leave.
Look at the dashboard
Rental car fuel is provided on a ‘same to same’ basis, which means you start with a certain amount in the tank, and you return the car with the same amount. Turn the key to check tank.
Sort your route
If your car has GPS, it’s worth setting it to your language before you head off.
Take a moment
Once everyone’s safely strapped in, take a minute to adjust the mirrors, move the seat, find reverse and check where the indicators are.
Look out for a petrol station
When you’re heading off, look out for a petrol station. It’ll save any last-minute stress about filling the car up before you take it back
You will need to bring your driving license with you when you come to collect your car. You must have held a driving license, your ID/passport and a credit/debit card – we need to have it as guarantee for your rental even if you choose to pay cash at the end.
No. Towing is a violation of the rental agreement and is not permitted under any circumstances.
It is offered between Selecta stations only after written approval and at a special charge in consultation with Selecta.
SELECTA vehicles, including 4-wheel drives, are to be operated only on regularly maintained roads. Off-road use is in violation of the rental agreement.
No, you are not allowed to remove any of the seats of the car
Only with prior written approval of Selecta. Any damages caused to the rental car during its transportation are not covered by any insurance. Ferry transfer fee is 40€+VAT per transaction upon request and is not permitted to every island. Valid only between Ionian Islands, Kefalonia-Ithaca-Lefkada-Zakynthos-Corfu
Charge for each delivery or pick-up after office hours, 25€.
There is a 29-minute grace period. After the grace period has expired a full day’s charge will apply.
All customers must inform SELECTA about a possible extension of the rental within the opening hours of the stores, to avoid the imposition of the Late Return Charge. If the car is returned late or more than the agreed return time, then there will be a Late Return Charge at a cost of 20€, plus VAT, for each day or part thereof, in addition to the cost of the extra rental day.
In the case you return the car earlier than the agreed delivery date, there will be no refund.

You will need a written approval and the issue of a green card from SELECTA headquarters.
The renter on the return of the vehicle delivers the car at the same level of gasoline / diesel that received it. If this is less than the one who received it, then it will be charged on the spot with the difference between Fuels and in addition the fuel service charge. REFUELING CHARGE Fee is €15 plus missing fuel.
No, there are exceptions for damages which are not covered by any insurance. Such cases are single damages to the lower part of the vehicle, wheels, and tires. Also not covered are damages due to driving on an improper road surface, towing another vehicle, transfer of explosives, rallying, etc.
By accepting SC coverage your excess is 0 and full cover is provided to your rental agreement.
Bookings are subject to a specific car group, which includes several different car models with similar features. You can ask for a specific model during the pick-up, whether it is available.
The minimum period for a car rental is 30 min and the maximum is thirty (30) days.
You prepay the cost of your reservation, by using your credit or debit card. To complete the reservation of the car, you will need to enter your credit / debit card. Your card will be charged with the amount.
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners, Discovery debit and credit cards are accepted.
Upon successful completion of your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email on the address you provided during your reservation.
There are no charges but need to contact our SELECTA reservations department at firstname.lastname@example.org . You can amend your booking 4 hours before the pick-up time you have put on your reservation
For on-request reservations, you should wait 24-72 hours in order to be confirmed
In case you do not show-up on the pick-up time that you provided during your reservation, with no prior written notification, SELECTA has the right to cancel your booking after the end of a 29-minute grace period and charge a no-show fee. FEE of 30 € for 7 days rental and for more days 2 days charge.
The refund of rest amount will be completed within five (5) working days.
No. In order to pick up the reserved vehicle, the card holder must present the card under which the reservation was made. The card holder will appear as the driver on the rental agreement.
