DRIVER’S AGE:

For categories A, AA, A1, B, BB, BA, BJ, C, CA, CH minimum age 19 years, having a driving license of at least 1 year and for all other categories 23 years. Maximum age limit 85 years. SELECTA employees have the wright for security reasons to prevent car rental if they deem the driver unsuitable.

YOUNG & SENIOR DRIVER(S) FEE

Daily charge of €25 plus VAT for young driver ages between 19 – 22. Maximum charge 310 €. Full Damage Cover is not applicable. Drivers over 75 and up to 85 years old Daily charge €25 + VAT

ADDITIONAL DRIVER(S)

Daily charge of €5 plus VAT for each additional driver. Maximum charge 110 €.

PAYMENT METHOD:

For all categories, the lessee must present a credit card accepted by SELECTA to cover the amounts related to the payment of the rental cost (for non-prepaid reservations). For every car rental, a credit card is always required as a guarantee, even if the renter pays the rental in cash.

DRIVING LICENCE

The driver must hold a license for at least one year. His driving license must be Greek, European (for EU countries) or International (for non-EU countries).

WARRANTY

For rentals in Greece, upon receipt of the car, a deposit amount will be reserved on the driver’s credit card which will be returned in its full at the end of the rental, if no other charges arise. The release of the amount can take up to 20 days depending on the issuing bank of the card. The amount of the warranty varies by car category. Analytically:

 A deposit equal to the excess amount per car group will be held on the renter’s credit card.

PRICE AND INFRINGEMENTS

All fines and administrative penalties resulting from the driver’s fault are fully borne by the lessee.

SAFETY

All SELECTA-authorized car drivers are exempt for damage to the rented car by fire and are insured with civil liability to third parties for death, bodily injury, and property damage. All 2 coverages are subject to the general terms of SELECTA’s contract with its insurance company.

COLISSION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)

The renter’s liability for damage to the rented vehicle may be limited, provided that the Highway Code is not violated, damages to the underside of the car and the wheels are not covered.

SUPER COVER (SC) LIABILITY EXEMPTION

The renter can limit his liability even further (SC) to the minimum charge by paying in addition as below

THEFT (TPC), DAMAGE (CDW)

The Lessee has the obligation to compensate the Lessor and any third party in case of theft, loss or damage to the Car or third parties (including its passengers) and to pay any positive or consequential damage suffered by the Lessor. In particular : a. The Lessee shall be liable for all damage caused to the Car or to third parties if he has violated the conditions of use of the Car or driven it in an illegal manner or contrary to the provisions of the Highway Code. b. The Lessee is liable for partial or total theft or loss of the Car, unless the Lessor has released the Lessee from liability for total theft or loss of the Car. This indemnity shall apply provided that the Lessee has already admitted at the commencement of the hire the daily charge and the terms for “Theft Protection Cover” (TPC) of the Car as these terms are interpreted in the Lessor’s official catalogue, by ticking the appropriate box marked “I accept” on the front of this agreement and provided that the Lessee has taken all precautions to prevent total theft or loss of the Car and has used the Car in accordance with the terms of this agreement. It is expressly agreed that theft or loss of parts, components and/or equipment (partial theft) of the Car is not covered by the above “Theft Protection Coverage” (TPC) acceptance. c.The Lessee is liable for any damage to the Car as a result of a collision or fire, unless the Lessee has accepted the “Release of Liability” (CDW) clause by ticking the corresponding box marked “I accept” on the front side of this agreement and paying the corresponding daily charge. The above acceptance of “Release of Liability” (CDW) does not release the Lessee if the Car is not used in accordance with the terms of this Agreement and in particular in accordance with the Conditions of Use (Article 7) hereof. Even in the event that the Lessee has accepted a “Liability Discharge” there is a minimum charge for the cost of repairing the damage, as determined by the Lessor’s official price list or as stated on the front page hereof, unless the Lessee has accepted the “Full Discharge of Liability” (FDW) by marking the opposite “I accept” and paying the corresponding daily charge. It is expressly agreed that : The above acceptance of “Liability Discharge” (CDW) or Full Discharge of Liability (FDW), does not in any case cover damage caused : 1. To the underside of the Car. 2. On the tyres and wheels of the Car. 3. To glasses, exterior mirrors, wipers 4. To the  interior, roof, engine, damage to the locks and loss of vehicle keys, 5. During loading, unloading or transporting the Car on ships or trains or other means of transport without the prior written consent of the Lessor. 6. DUTIES The Lessee shall pay to the Lessor at the end of the lease, unless otherwise agreed, the following amounts. The monies corresponding to the mileage travelled in the Car during the term of the lease, unless otherwise agreed, based on the unit price per kilometre as set out in the Lessor’s official price list. The number of kilometres travelled shall be calculated according to the readings on the odometer at the start and end of the lease. In case the odometer is not working, the charge is based on the mileage of the journeys made by the Lessee with the Car. c. All charges relating to the refuelling of the Car in the event that it is not returned with the same amount of fuel as it had when it was received by the Lessee, “Theft Protection Cover” (TPC), Liability Discharge (CDW), “Personal Insurance” (PAI), “Full Discharge of Liability” (FDW) and any other charges provided for by the terms of this Agreement or by the official price list. The Lessee agrees and accepts that if upon receipt of the lease the Lessee does not deliver the Car to the Lessor with the same amount of fuel as the amount of fuel it had when it was received from the Lessee, then the Lessee will also be charged a “Fuel Service Charge” as specified in the Lessor’s official price list. d. Any taxes, fees and other charges relating to the lease of the Car. e. Any costs incurred by the Lessor, including attorney’s fees and interest for late payment of any amounts due under this lease or to regain possession and use of the Car from the Lessor. f. Any costs incurred by the Lessor, including attorney’s fees and interest for late payment of any amounts due under this lease or regaining possession and use of the Car from the Lessor. Any fines, penalties, fines, court costs and other costs imposed or which may be imposed on the Lessor as a result of breaches during the use of the Car by the Lessee. In the latter case, the Lessee or the additional driver named on the front side hereof shall still be liable for any illegal acts committed by them. g. Any amount required to replace or repair damaged tyres or wheels or any sum of money to repair damage to the underside of the Car, to repair any other damage and to compensate for loss of the Car, unless the relevant exemptions have been accepted and the terms thereof have been complied with (Article 5). η. The additional charge for the collection or delivery of the car as well as the charge for its return to a point other than the one specified on the front side of this document without the written consent of the Lessor, of the charge mentioned in the official price list of the Lessor. i. The surcharge of the “Airport Service Charge” if the Lessee has hired the Car at a branch of the Lessor located at an Airport. The Hirer agrees and accepts that: 1. Discounts that may be provided will not apply if the payment of the invoice issued by the Lessor is not made by the due date. 2. All charges are subject to final audit by the Lessor and the Lessee hereby accepts them.
7. TERMS OF USE The Lessee shall take care of the Car, keep it in good condition, check its mechanical condition, oil and water levels, tyres, etc. and generally exercise due diligence of a prudent person. Any repair by the Lessee or any other third party is prohibited without the prior approval of the Lessor. The Car may not be taken out of Greece and loaded onto a train or ship or other means of transport without the written consent of the Lessor. The Car may not be used a. To transport persons or things for a fee. b. To tow or haul cars or other objects. c. To participate in or follow speed races. d. To sublease to third parties. e. For purposes contrary to Greek laws. f. If the Lessee or the additional driver of the Car is under the influence of alcohol, hallucinogens, narcotics, barbiturates or any other substance that affects the driver’s ability to drive and senses. g. In violation of any customs, traffic or other regulations. h. By any third party other than the Lessee and any additional driver for whom the Lessee has accepted the daily charge for additional drivers as determined by the Lessor’s official price list. i. To carry or move heavy baggage, flammable materials, foul or odorous objects, drugs, etc. j. To carry out illegal transportation of domestic or foreign persons or to commit illegal acts k. To travel outside Greece without the written consent of the Lessor.

DRIVER AND OCCUPANT COVERAGE (PAI)

It is offered free of charge and covers Compensation in case of death, Total / Partial disability up to 50.000 € and for hospitalizations 1500 €.

ACCIDENT FILE COSTS (IAF)

The driver is charged €35 + VAT in case of accident, regardless of fault, as well as in case of a fine resulting from a violation of the Greek Law. This amount is non-refundable.

ACCIDENTS

In the event of an accident or other incident (fire, theft, etc.) The Lessee or the additional driver is immediately obliged to the following: a. Not to acknowledge the fault or guilt and claims of third parties in any way, directly or indirectly. b. To note the names and addresses of any eyewitnesses and the name and address of the driver and the details of the car with which the Car may have collided, whether directly or indirectly, and whether the Car was in collision with the driver or the driver of the car. c. Notify the police to ascertain the fault of the third party and treat any existing injuries. d. Immediately contact the Lessor by telephone or any other means (fax, etc.). e. Collect any relevant information from any third party. f. To photograph the scene of the accident and the cars involved in the accident if possible. The Lessee shall within twenty-four (24) hours complete & sign an accident/theft report at the nearest branch of the Lessor and send any accident related documents or information to the Lessor. In the event of theft or loss of the Car, the Lessee shall report the incident in writing to the nearest police authority immediately or within twenty-four (24) hours at the latest.

CHARGE FOR DELIVERY TO THE AIRPORT

Start renting at airports: All rentals starting at airport stations are charged an additional 9% of the basic rental price.

Chios, Kos, Lesvos, Samos, Skopelos

Areas with 24% VAT

Alexandroupolis, Athens, Chalkidiki, Corfu, Crete, Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Kavala, Katakolo, Kos, Kefalonia, Larissa, Lefkada, Thassos, Parga, Patras, Preveza, Thessaloniki, Volos, Karpathos, Santorini, Skiathos, Rhodes, Naxos, Mykonos, Paros, Kalamata, Zakynthos

Municipal Tax: 0.5% of the rental price, charged at some stations.

GAS/OIL POLICY

The renter on the return of the vehicle delivers the car at the same level of gasoline / diesel that received it. If this is less than the one who received it, then it will be charged on the spot with the difference between Fuels and in addition the fuel service charge.

REFUELING CHARGE

Same to same fuel policy. In case fuel is not at the same level a Fee €15 plus VAT and plus missing fuel will be charged.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Roadside Assistance Package is 6 € per day covers any roadside assistance for fuel service, dead battery, key lockout, lost key replacement delivery, tire change service. Maximum charge 66 €.

CHILD SEATS

Available only after reservation and with a charge of € 5 daily plus VAT. Maximum charge 70 €.

GPS

Available only after reservation and with a charge of 7 € per day plus VAT. Maximum charge 90 €.

ROOF RACKS

Available only after reservation and with a charge of 10 € per day plus VAT.

SNOW CHAINS

Available only after reservation and with a charge of 10 € per day plus VAT.

BIOLOGICAL WASH

In case you need additional cleaning – biological, the charge is 80 € plus VAT.

CAR TYPE CHANGES

The company reserves the right, subject to availability, to provide a different type of car from that of the original reservation with a corresponding, or larger category

DELIVERY – COLLECTION POLICY + ΟΟΗ FEES

Charges for each delivery or pick-up may apply depending on location, klm etc. Minimum 25€ plus VAT

Charge for each delivery or pick-up after office hours, 40€ plus VAT.

GRACE PERIOD

A rental day is calculated as 24 hours and 1 hour. In case the rental exceeds this period, an additional rental day will be charged.

LATE RETURN CHARGE

All customers must inform SELECTA about a possible extension of the rental within the opening hours of the stores, to avoid the imposition of the Late Return Charge. If the car is returned late or more than the agreed return time, then there will be a Late Return Charge at a cost of 20€, plus VAT, for each day or part thereof, in addition to the cost of the extra rental day.

SYSTEM “LEASE HERE-LEAVE THERE”:

It is offered between Selecta stations only after written approval and at a special charge in consultation with Selecta.

OUT-OF-BORDER RENTAL

Cross Border is NOT allowed.

TRANSPORT BY FERRY

Only with prior written approval of Selecta. Any damages caused to the rental car during its transportation are not covered by any insurance. Ferry transfer fee is 40-250 € plus VAT upon request and is not permitted to every island. Valid only between Ionian Islands, Kefalonia-Ithaca-Lefkada-Zakynthos.

TAXES

All prices and charges listed on the form are charged with VAT and at some stations a municipal tax of 0.5% on the rental price is charged.
